Primary and secondary school students who have been physically separated from their schools for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic have returned to their schools. Near East Primary School, Near East Yenibogazici Primary School and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia Primary School and Near East College, Near East Yeniboğaziçi College and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College’s secondary and high schools are also ready for education. Vaccination, free antigen tests, hygiene in schools, masks and other pandemic measures are at the top of the important agendas for keeping the COVID-19 pandemic under control and protecting the health of students, teachers and parents.

Near East University Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan made statements regrding the COVID-19 measures carried out at primary, secondary and high schools.

All teachers vaccinated against COVID-19
Reminding that education started at Near East Primary School, Near East Yeniboğaziçi Primary School and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia Primary School along with all other schools in the country as of Monday, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan emphasized that secondary and high school colleges will open their doors to their students.

Emphasizing that all teachers working for primary, secondary and high schools operating under the Near East Enterprises are vaccinated against COVID-19, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan said that the vaccination of students over the age of 12 will also make an important contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

All students will receive free antigen testing every week.
Stating that all students will also have free antigen tests every week, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan said, “Our children have had their first antigen tests as of this week. We will regularly check the health of our students by repeating the free antigen tests every week.”

“We take every precaution to protect the health of our students, teachers and parents and to continue education activities without interruption,” said Assoc. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan, and continued as followsİ; “As always, we continue to raise awareness of our students against COVID-19. In addition, we have completed our preparations to create conditions suitable for social distance in common areas as well as disinfecting our schools regularly.”
